Agricultural insurance advantages were discussed in a meeting held in Saatli

The Agricultural Insurance Fund continues its awareness-raising activities in the field of insuring crop areas and livestock farming.

The next event on the topic "Agricultural Insurance for Sustainable Farming" was organized by the Agricultural Insurance Fund in collaboration with the Executive Authority of Saatli District.

During the event, farmers were provided with comprehensive information on agricultural insurance, its advantages, and details about insurance premiums.

Roman Amirjanov, a member of the Management Board of the Agricultural Insurance Fund, stated that agricultural insurance is a significant support mechanism implemented by the state with favorable conditions for farmers.

Currently, it is possible to insure crop areas, agricultural animals, and fisheries through agricultural insurance. Agricultural insurance covers facilities against hail, fire, earthquake, land subsidence, hailstorm, storm, flood and submersion, frost, lightning, shaft collapse (freezing), excessive snowfall, third-party actions, as well as plant diseases and pests. The state covers 50% of the insurance fee to support farmers.

Elnur Jabrayilov, the head of the Land Management and Local Self-Government Department of the Saatli District Executive Authority, spoke about the natural disasters that have occurred in recent years and their impact on farms, urging farmers to take advantage of agricultural insurance and insure their crop areas in a timely manner.

The event provided extensive information on insuring crop areas and animals through agricultural insurance, along with details of the payment process in case of an incident.

It was mentioned that in the Mil-Mughan economic region, which includes Saatli district, the insurance cost for a wheat crop worth 1000 manats is 7 manats, for a pomegranate crop worth 1000 manats is 8 manats, and for almond of the same value is 15 manats. Orchard owners can also separately insure trees and branches by paying a nominal amount. Additionally, with a nominal payment, fruits and other plants can be insured against shaft collapse and loss of quality due to hail.

Detailed information was provided about the insurance of animals during the meeting, stating that it is possible to insure a sheep worth 300 manats for 9-12 manats and a goat or sheep worth 1000 manats for 31-45 manats. Agricultural insurance protects animals from infectious diseases, bites or attacks by wild animals, the effects of toxic plants and chemicals, natural disasters (earthquake, land subsidence, hailstorm, storm, and flood), fire, and the risk of theft or third-party actions.

During the event, the official website of the Agricultural Insurance Fund was introduced, showcasing the "Crop Calculator" and "Livestock Calculator."

Farmers had the opportunity to voice their questions and suggestions regarding agricultural insurance during the discussions.
